Volunteer at Richcraft Recreation Complex

Volunteer Opportunities

National Youth Week Communications Liaison

- Primary role is to create and assist in the delivery of promotional material for NYW events at Richcraft Recreation Complex

​

- Includes: posters/flyers, images and posts for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), digital advertisements, photos, and blog posts

​

- Must have experience with and access to photo editing and/or graphic design software

​

- Applicants must have previously completed/currently completing a Communications Technology course at the Secondary School level 

​

- Additional duties of the Organizing Committee

​

Application deadline is March 10th, 2020

National Youth Week Organizing Committee

- Under direction of the staff mentor, brainstorm, design, and create activities to be hosted at the Richcraft Recreation Complex

​

-  Promote the event(s) in the community

​

- Assist the staff mentor with acquiring sponsors and partners for the event

​

- Attend all NYW planning meetings and events at Richcraft Recreation Complex

​

- Contribute to the clients' positive experience with the event

 

Application Deadline is March 10th, 2020 

Recreation Volunteer - Land Recreation Programs

- Assist staff with set-up and take-down of program supplies and equipment

​

- Help staff by reinforcing sport skill instruction

 

- Interact with clients in a positive and appropriate manner

 

- Must have experience in any of: basketball, badminton, dance, triathlon, gymnastics, tennis, or table tennis.

​

- Shifts available on evenings and weekends

​

Application deadline is March 13th, 2020

 

Aquatics Volunteer - Swim Lesson Assistant

- In-water assistance with Learn-to-Swim programming

 

- Hands-on experience with kids

​

- Develop leadership and instructional skills

​

- Bronze Cross Certification is required. Other lifeguard certifications are considered an asset.

​

Day Camp Volunteer

- Assist staff with set-up and take-down of program supplies and equipment

​

- Help staff by running games and activities

​

- Be a part of a team in the supervision of children in the program

​

- Responsible for supervising a small group of children during free-swim in the facility's pool

​

- Shifts scheduled from 9:00am-4:00pm on November 15

​

- Application deadline for Winter Break camps is November 30 at noon

Special Events Volunteer

- Assist staff with various logistical tasks, including but not limited to;

 

- Preparation of materials related to the event and pre-event administration​

 

- Assist in the set-up, conduct, and clean-up of the event

 

- Set-up tables and chairs for the event

 

- Greet, escort, and assist guests

 

- Other duties as required

Volunteer in West Carleton

Recreation Volunteer - Rock Wall

- Shifts available in rock wall drop-ins AND rock wall registered instructional programs!

 

- Assist staff with set-up and take-down of program supplies and equipment

​

- Interact with clients in a positive manner

​

- Shifts available on evenings and weekends

​

Application deadline is November 30 at noon

 

West Carleton Community Associations Volunteers

- Ongoing acceptance of applications to volunteer with community associations across West Carleton

​

Recreation Volunteer - Land Recreation Programs

NEW POSITION! Assist staff with set-up and take-down of program supplies and equipment

​

- Help staff by reinforcing activity skill instruction

 

- Interact with clients in a positive and appropriate manner

 

- Must have experience in dance, as either a participant or instructor

​

- Shifts available on Sunday mornings at the Carp Memorial Hall
